Tulips & Carnations Workshop
One day workshop in Lora’s studio
This is a one day workshop is taking place in person in Lora’s studio building or in Lora’s studio itself depending on numbers. The class will bring together two of Lora’s signature techniques; couching with braid and three dimensional flowers. During the class each student will make a textile artwork consisting of the two techniques, using Lora’s smocking machine to pleat the fabric for the three dimensional flowers and hand couching a braid tulip design of your choice.
Only basic sewing skills necessary for the class, but could also benefit people who are more experienced and would like to broaden their knowledge.
Lora will give you access to her materials and show you her tricks and tips to create a beautiful three-dimensional floral artwork. In addition, you will get a short tour of Lora’s studio and she will show you her sample portfolio as part of the workshop.

Couching stitch with braid
How to use the hand smocking machine
How to create three-dimensional textile flowers with your pleated fabric.
