Intriductsion to Hand Embroidery
One day workshop in Lora’s studio
This is a one day workshop is taking place in person in a large light space at the top of Lora’s studio building. The class is a beginners class for people who are interested in learning embroidery, no experience necessary, but could also benefit people who are more experienced and would like to broaden their idea of embroidery. She will teach you how to do a large range of hand embroidery techniques that work really well for floral or more abstract designs. You will come away with a large sampler on a piece of fabric that has all of your techniques on it, with a physical hand book of the techniques for you to refer to. As well as more traditional techniques, you will learn about Lora’s experimental approach to embroidery, how to working on a larger scale, and some exciting variations of traditional the stitches listed below. In addition, you will get a short tour of Lora’s studio and she will show you her sample portfolio as part of the workshop.

Workshop date: Saturday 7th June 2025
Workshop time: 10am-5pm with an hours lunch break in between from 1-2pm
Location: Fusion Arts Studios, Kingston-Upon-Thames
Located a 5 minute walk from Kingston overground station, with many car parks in the area, and bus stops just outside the door of the studio.
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day, and the workshop space is in the centre of town with lots of places to purchase lunch and any other things you might need.
Accessibility note: The only way to access my studio space is via stairs, the lifts in the building are not working, therefore I cannot accommodate anyone who is unable to walk up several flights of stairs. Please accept my apologies about this!
